Zoom for Government is a more secure version than Zoom Commercial and meets the Federal Reserve System’s security requirements. The security within Zoom for Government limits the potential impact of an event that could result in the loss of information. It is operated by US persons, including all customer support personnel, sales engineers, and operations personnel.
While built for U.S. federal agencies, Zoom for Government is also available to U.S. state and local government customers, as well as other approved businesses and organizations that support the U.S. government.
Zoom for Government has all the same features within Zoom Commercial but operates in a dedicated, secure infrastructure designed to meet the Federal Reserve System’s requirements. Zoom for Government updates are released one to three months after the changes are made on the commercial Zoom platform. This is because the Zoom for Government code needs to go through additional FedRAMP security and compliance requirements and reviews.
Zoom for Government is approved for external use and for these use cases: collaboration with external agencies and academia, Human Resource interviews, media interviews, public outreach, researchers discussing data allowable for public consumption, and training or conferences.
Zoom for Government is approved for up to Internal-FR information classification.
